How to Sell Your House Fast

Thinking about selling your home and want some tricks of the trade to help sell your house quickly? I’ve compiled a list of my top tips on how to sell your house fast - and get top dollar!

1. Tidy Up

You only get one chance to make a first impression, and your house is no different! Make sure to declutter as much as you can before photos are taken and showings are scheduled. Clutter can be distracting, and you want buyers to be wowed by your house’s features, not disorganization.

2. Light it Up

Natural light is your best friend! Plus, most buyers want a home with lots of natural light, so you want to accentuate that as much as possible. If possible, have photos of your house taken during the day to show off the natural light, and maximize the light in your home for showings by turning on all the lights and opening all of the curtains and blinds.

3. Conceal the Critters

Buyers may love pets, but seeing pet toys all over or getting pet hair on their clothes is an easy way to put potential buyers off. While your house is on the market, try to keep any pet food, toys, or other clutter away and organized. Also, make sure to vacuum and shampoo any carpet or rugs as best you can (because even if you’re used to it, pets can sometimes leave a not-so-great smell behind!).

4. Make it Cozy

Everyone loves that warm, cozy feeling - especially buyers searching for their perfect home! Before showings, consider lighting a candle, turning on the fireplace, or leaving some fresh-baked cookies on the kitchen counter to create a home-y environment for potential buyers.

5. Don’t Underestimate Curb Appeal

Curb appeal can make or break a buyer’s impression of your home! Before your house is listed, and while you’re showing it, make sure landscaping is maintained, hoses or outdoor toys are put away, or driveway stains are cleaned up.

These tips may seem simple, but if you’re looking for how to sell your house fast, these are some of the best tried-and-true methods out there!
