Buying a House Around Greater Nashville
So, you’re thinking about buying a house in Nashville or the surrounding area - now what?
Here’s a look at what you can expect from the process!
Whether you’re a first time home buyer or a seasoned home-buying pro, there are always a lot of questions and unknowns that come with the process. (Especially with these ever-changing market conditions!)
What I Do
I genuinely love helping clients find the perfect home for them, and that starts with getting to know you and your unique wants and needs! As your real estate agent, I’m here to represent you, protect your interests, and find the best home for the best possible deal for you. I get it - buying a home is a big deal! That’s why I take my job as your voice in the home-buying process seriously.
I’ll be there every step of the way to track down homes that fit what you’re looking for (even ones that haven’t hit the market yet), negotiate a strong offer, connect you with trustworthy vendors (such as lenders, home inspectors, and more), and support you through closing day and beyond.
Q: Do I need a Realtor® to buy a house?
A: I’ve said it before - buying a home is a complicated process! As your Realtor®, it’s my job to not only understand the ins and outs of the home buying process, but also the various contracts and requirements that go into it, and what it means for you. Having me as your buyer’s agent ensures that you have someone in your corner to negotiate and protect your best interest.
Q: Can I just have a listing agent represent me?
A: You can, but think of it this way - a listing agent’s job is to protect the seller, not the buyer. When buyers work with a listing agent, they’re hiring a representative whose goal is to sell the home they’re interested in for the most money possible, not look out for you as the buyer.
Q: How much does it cost to work with a buyer’s agent?
A: Except in rare cases, the seller pays the buyer’s agent, so it doesn’t cost the buyer anything to have a Realtor® represent them!
FAQ
What’s next?
If you’re thinking about buying a house in Nashville or middle Tennessee, I recommend getting pre-qualified as early as possible. Even if you’re still just looking or aren’t quite ready to pull the trigger on a home just yet, starting the pre-qualification process is a huge help to get a clear picture of your financial situation and how much home you can afford. I can provide recommendations of some great lenders I work with to help get you started.
I typically like to start things off by scheduling a quick buyer consultation (don’t worry, it’s completely free and no strings attached!) to help get an idea of who you are and what you’re looking for.
I’ll go over my custom home buying/selling guide with you that will help you create the best plan for you and make it as stress-free as possible!
We’ll also go over:
the home buying and selling process and what to expect
common timelines
mortgage and credit tips
down payment assistance
estimated equity and net for sellers
And more! It’s never too early to start planning, and I commonly work with clients even up to 12 months in advance to create a roadmap.
