My Favorite Fall Simmer Pot Recipe
Have you ever tried a simmer pot? If you haven’t, fall is the perfect time to make one! Simmer pots are also sometimes called “stovetop potpourri,” and it’s basically what it sounds like - a pot that you leave on the stove to simmer and add a nice cozy smell to your home. I love doing simmer pots, especially during the fall - so if you’re looking for a fall simmer pot recipe to try, check mine out!
How to Make a Fall Simmer Pot
Simmer pots are insanely easy to make! For mine, I like to use all the cozy scents, so for fall that means lots of oranges, apples, cinnamon, cloves, and whatever other “warm” add ins you want! Here’s exactly what I used in mine:
2 oranges, sliced
2 apples, sliced
4-5 cinnamon sticks
2-3 tablespoons of whole cloves
1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice
Then all you have to do is throw everything into a pot (I love my dutch oven for things like this - mine is sold out but here’s a similar one!), fill it up about halfway with water, and put it on the stove over low medium heat for as long as you want. You can even save it to reuse two or three times to soak up all the cozy scent!
